The ReRum Course - Adding Your Properties

In order to use the basic functions of the ReRum system (such as making bookings, generating reports and scheduling maintenance), you will first need to have entered your properties into the ReRum system.

To set up your Property Portfolio, you must start at the top of the property hierarchy.

The property hierarchy in ReRum is structured as follows:

  • Region – A Region is a part of the country that could have one or many cities within in, e.g. West Midlands or Greater London.
  • City – A physical city, e.g. London, that can have one or many Areas associated to it
  • Area – A collection of Developments or an area within a city, e.g. West London, that can have one or many Developments associated to it
  • Development – A collection of Buildings, e.g. Hammersmith, Chiswick, etc. that can have one or may Buildings associated to it
  • Building – A physical building with an address that has one or many Unit Types associated to it
  • Unit Type – Types of units that exist in a Building, e.g. Studio apartments, One Bedroom apartments, etc. where each Unit Type will have one or several actual units associated to it
  • Unit – An actual Apartment

In this way, before you enter a unit, you must enter its unit type, before you enter a unit type, you must enter the building that unit type is within, and so on. Watch the short videos below to learn about adding geographical zones and adding your properties - the process is intuitive and similar for each element of the property hierarchy. Once you feel familiar with the process, you can practice adding zones and properties /here/.

This is the range of apartments that you own and that are available to be booked. For example if you own 30 apartments across 10 buildings in 2 developments, that is your property portfolio.
Property HierarchyBefore you can add a property, you must specify the geographical zone or the property it is within. A unit goes within a building, which is within a development and so on.
