A step by step guide to setting up Rentals United with rerum:1-

  • Add your Rentals United username and password to rerum. This is done via Admin - > System Config, then the Rentals United Tab

  • Provide Owner/Landlord Details that you want to use for your Units. Details required are First Name, Last Name, Telephone, Email. These are configured via Admin - > System Config, then the Rentals United Tab

  • You can request an ID for your Rentals United account via Admin - > System Config, then the Rentals United Tab under the section of Owner/Landlord. You may need to wait for 5 minutes and refresh the page before the ID will appear

  • Rentals United will set the Check in Check out times for all your properties to match your standard ETA, ETD times. However Rentals United uses a window of time to checkin i.e. you can checkin between 3pm & 10pm each day. The end time of the check-in is configured via the Rentals United tab within Admin → System config.

  •  Provide your Close out times for each day of the week i.e. Mon 2pm until Tues, Fri 2pm until Mon. This is the time you want to stop selling your entire property portfolio for arrivals today . So if you don't want to receive any bookings for arrivals today after 3pm then set every day to 3pm. The stop sell days means the number of days it will stop selling for from the trigger time, Mon 3pm with stop sell 1 day will stop selling at 3pm Monday afternoon and start selling again at 12:01am Tuesday morning. These are configured via menu Online - > Rentals United.

  • Create a Rentals United rate plan with rates, either a single rate for all properties or multiple rates for each unit type.
Warning

Only VAT Inclusive rates are supported with Rentals United.

These are base rates which are pushed to Rentals United, they can then be uplifted on a per channel basis i.e. Booking.com is increased by 15%.9-


  • Publish each property. Go to Properties - Units - Integrations tab. Click on each Unit you want to make available to Rentals United and tick the 'Publish to Rentals United'.

  • Configure the additional information required. Rentals United Name, Rentals United Description.

  •  The floor the property is on and the floor space of the property must also be configured. This is taken from the General tab on the unit.

  • Photos of the property are added via Internal locations. Click on the picture icon next to each internal location and upload your photos.

  • Then map a rate by clicking the blue magnifying glass and selecting your Rentals United rate that is for this property.

  • Click Update on the Unit and it will send the information to Rentals Unite and return with a Unique External ID, once you have an external ID from Rentals United it will also appear in their portal. Your Units will now appear in Rentals United - My Properties - Edit Properties. Sometimes you need to logout and back in again to see recently pushed properties.

  • Repeat steps 9 & 10 for each property you want to publish to Rentals United.

  • You manage the availability of each property via the Group Grid in Rerum. The availability group grid can be found under the sales menu.


  • Select Rentals United from the drop down list then add each Unit you want to make available for the specific dates. You select the Unit or Units then the dates you want them to be available you then allocate them into the grid. Note if they are already booked out for some dates it is fine as Rerum will still let Rentals United know that it's unavailable for those specific dates.

  • Allocated Unit show in blue. Unit's that you have added via the Group Grid but are not currently published to Rentals United will show in red.

  • You now need to enable each channel you want to push properties out to in the Rentals United portal (Warning this can take 1-2 weeks to setup each channel). Speak with your Rentals United account manager to help you with this process. See Rentals United documentation here


Notes:

  • Rerum pushes changes to availability for the published properties immediately to Rentals United
  • Rerum pushes changes to Price & minimum stay lengths for the published properties immediately to Rentals United
  • Changes to price & availability will appear in Rentals United almost immediately (you may need to login & out of Rentals to see the changes)
  • Changes in price & availability will take anything from a few minutes to a few hours to propagate to all channels connected to Rentals United (Booking.com is fast, Airbnb is slow)
  • Rerum checks for new bookings via Rentals United every 60 seconds.
  • Rerum will auto set the channel on bookings from Rentals United i.e. a booking from Airbnb will be set to channel Airbnb
  • All booking received will be in pending state and shown in the Sales Centre within Rerum
  • Rerum supports taking credit card payments on bookings where the channel doesn't take the payment ie. Booking.com. This is enabled in the Admin → System config → Rentals united tab.
