Siteminder Basics


What is Siteminder?

Siteminder is a cloud-based platform that allows you to list your apartments on multiple OTAs (Online Travel Agencies - booking.com, expedia etc.) through the same portal - meaning you don't have to upload your apartments one by one for every OTA that you use. Once you have uploaded the apartments that you wish to be listed online to Siteminder, you can then select which of their  400+ OTAs you want your apartments to be listed on.

You can integrate the ReRum system with Siteminder using the 'Siteminder' section of the main menu - this will map rates and availability from ReRum to Siteminder, and will map bookings, cancellations and amendments from Siteminder to ReRum.

Once ReRum is integrated with Siteminder, any changes made to ReRum will be mapped onto your chosen OTAs, and vice-versa. For example, if you were to search for an apartment using expedia, the expedia website would use the availability that is supplied by ReRum. Likewise, if you were to make a booking using expedia, then the availability on ReRum would be update in turn.

In this way, ReRum, Siteminder and your selected OTAs all give information to eachother - when one is updated, the other two are also updated. The integrated relationship between ReRum, Siteminder and your chosen OTAs is demonstrated in the diagram to the right.



Siteminder Layout

To add rooms and rates to Siteminder, you must first add a 'hotel'. Siteminder hotels are the equivalent of Buildings on ReRum, and they must be added individually to Siteminder. To connect multiple hotels on Siteminder, give them the same username and password. Under each hotel, you can then add rooms and rates and map them to the ReRum system.
