Adding a Building

A Development contains one or more Buildings which represent the actual buildings in the developments.

Ensure you have done the following steps first:

  1. Add a Region
  2. Add a City
  3. Add an Area
  4. Add a Development

Name - Give a descriptive name to the building i.e. Mayfair Plaza. This name will be used in email templates and across the system

Development - Click on the Lookup button and select the development this building belongs to.

Classification - At the moment you only have a single option which is Managed in future versions we will support Network buildings (i.e. buildings you don't own/manage but take bookings for).

Short Description - Put a very short description about the building i.e. "Attractive four-storey apartment building constructed in 1983 with 48 studio units"

Long Description - Here you can describe in details the building and its features i.e.

"Mayfair Plaza offers spacious one and two bedroom serviced apartments, each varying slightly in terms of layout and style but all designed to make the maximum use of space. Wooden floors feature throughout except in the bedrooms where carpet provides guests that little extra level of comfort.

Modern open plan living/dining rooms provide a good area for relaxation and the adjoining kitchens incorporate all the mod cons to ensure guests have everything they need for everyday living. Comfortable double bedrooms provide a restful area for a good night’s sleep and are all feature fitted wardrobes for storage, essential for our extended stay guests. The marble bathrooms have bath with overhead shower, heated towel rail and shaving points. The two bedroom apartments comprise of a master double en-suite and a second double bedroom with separate shower room."

Directions - Describe how to find the building i.e. " Mayfair Plaza is just a 5 minute walk from Green Park tube station. Access to the building is via Park Lane and the building entrance can be found between Starbucks and the Park Lane Gallery."

Arrival Template - This is used to select the Email Template that will be used to send guests staying in this building. You can change this at any point so for now select "Arrival Information" which is one of the system default templates. Arrival information emails are automatically sent to guests 48hrs prior to their checkin date. This setting allows you to send a different arrival email for each building by having different templates per building.

Departure Template - This is used to select the Email Template that will be used to send guests staying in this building. You can change this at any point so for now select "Departure Information" which is one of the system default templates. Departure information emails are automatically sent to guests 48hrs prior to their checkout date. Latitude & Longitude - You can get the Lat/Long of your building via google maps. Browse to https://maps.google.co.uk then type the address of your building into the search box and click the directions button (blue right hand arrow).

Then look at the URL in the browser which will look something like this: "https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir//Mayfair+Place,+London+W1J/@52.4793235,-1.899414,15z"

The latitude is the first number after the @ symbol i.e. 52.4793235, the longitude is the second number i.e. -1.899414.
